Chikankari
Chikankari work is another art form that came to India during the Mughal period. Depending on the pattern intricacy and size of the piece, the embroidery process alone can take up to 10 days to complete. It is widely believed that Nor Jehan, Emperor Jehangir’s wife, who was a talented embroiderer, had a particular fondness for Chikankari work and introduced this art to Mughal courtiers.
